Structural FEA

A browser-based finite element analysis (FEA) tool for structural engineers. Analyse beams, frames, plates, and trusses directly in your browser with no installation required.

Key Features

  • 3D Modeling - Create nodes, members, quadrilateral and triangular plates, and complex building models
  • Multiple Analysis Types - Linear (with tension/compression-only members), P-Delta, Buckling (Classic LBA and Wittrick-Williams exact), and Modal
  • Comprehensive Results - View displacements, reactions, member force diagrams, member stress, and plate result contours
  • Load Cases & Combinations - Organize nodal, member, and plate surface loads into cases and factored combinations
  • Load Combination Generator - Auto-generate code-compliant combinations (AS/NZS 1170, ASCE 7, Eurocode 0, NBCC)
  • Section & Material Libraries - Access standard sections and materials from multiple countries
  • Spring Supports - Model elastic foundations and soil springs
  • Rigid Diaphragms - Constrain floor or wall nodes to a master for in-plane rigid-body motion
  • Design Code Checks - AS 4100:2020, AISC 360-16, Eurocode 3, and CSA S16-19 steel design checks via Member Analysis
  • DXF Import - Import CAD geometry directly as nodes, members, and plate meshes
  • PDF & Excel Reports - Export professional analysis reports including geometry, results, and design checks
  • Structure Wizard - Quick-start templates for common frame types
  • Health Check - Automated model validation to catch stability and connectivity issues
  • Area Load Generator - Convert area loads (kPa/psf) to member distributed loads using automatic tributary width calculation
  • Share Model - Generate a share link to send a copy of your model to anyone
  • Cloud Storage - Save and sync projects across devices (with account)
  • No Installation - Works entirely in your browser

Quick Start

  1. Open the app at /structuralfea
  2. Draw nodes, members, and plates using Draw mode (Ctrl+D) and the Plates dialog
  3. Apply supports by selecting nodes and setting restraints in the properties panel
  4. Add loads via the context menu or Loads dialog
  5. Run analysis by clicking the Run Analysis button
  6. View results using the display toggles in the left sidebar
